One way (which makes some troubleshooting / tracking users more difficult) is to set up the main authentication to be Anonymous Server and set what your current auth server is (Radius, AD, LDAP, etc) to be an Additional Authentication Server (checking End session if authentication against this server fails). -If you look at connected users you will then see AnonymousUser### though

Hi Christopher, thank you very much for your answer and help. Ok then it looks like it's more the problem of the treatment of a usb hdd instead of the filesystem (as my tests were with ntfs usb hdd and fat32 usb stick). I'd guess that the right treatment would be that all USB devices are the same, no matter if it is a digital camera or and usb stick or a usb harddriver, especially windows itself displays it as transportable media (or sth. similar, just tried to transalte it ;) ). But you are right with the risk of exporting data from the client pc via that way, but in this case it's wanted. We do not enabele or use desktop persistency, due there is no need for usto have this persistence.

Hi Ben, Would creating your ACL in such a way as to prevent access to that sensitive data work? This would allow you to grant some access to your Mac/Linux users; but restrict access to anything that is extra-sensitive. This restriction could be done via a special role for those computers that do not have the right permissions to run SVW and Cache Cleaner. Another option, if you have the advanced license, is allow access generally but have a detailed rule item that denies access based on the userAgent.

Hi, thanks for the info. Well I deleted the AD in Auth. Servers, what I did not do was to delete it from the store. Nevertheless, with 6.0r3 it seems to be fixed, whatever it was. Hi folks, we are using SVW for some realms, so that the user is only allowed to login inside the SVW. In most cases it works fine. But one some machines, without any known specific differences in their config, facing one of the following more or less similar result: -> Browser starts inside SVW, HC does not recognize SVW to be running eventhough it is. N times closing an reopening the browser does not help. (Exists on 6.0R4-2 and 6.2R1) -> Same as above but after closing the browser, reopening and accessing the initial URL presents the login. For this error we have the workaround to set the landing url of the specific SVW instead of "--" (that worked fine in the past) to the realm specific one (e.g. http://urlwithsvw1.myras.com -> realm: svw1; http://urlwithsvw2.myras.com -> realm: svw2 This error occures on 6.0R4-2, 6.1R? and 6.2R1. The only thing that changed after upgrading our testbox from 6.1 to 6.2 is, that the user saw in his errormessage only the realm specific SVW rule in HC to not be passed. Now the user is seeing every SVW rule to not be passed. I opened a ticket for both with not any real results, yet. So I just wanted to ask the community maybe facing (or better faced and solved ) such problems. thx ben

Dear guys, until yet I thought, usign HC and SVW does not need administrative rights to run. Also Juniper's documents state that. But since I am testing this construct with Windows Vista, it comes out, that on a fresh installed Vista PC, Windows requests the standard user to enter the password of an adminuser. But this only on the very first time. After doing this once, everything works fine without admin credentials. What happens is, HC installs the "Juniper Networks Setup Client ActiveX Control". I have not seen this before using Vista. Does anyone has the same experience? Tested with Vista Home Basic / Business (32bit) and IVE OS 6.3x
