We just upgraded from 6.5 to 7.0R3 for access to Pulse and 64bit windows support. It seems the split-tunnel networks are still active even after disconnecting and removing the clients totally. Anyone else seeing this? This is still on NC not on Pulse. UPDATE: after doing some digging it seems the DNS Search suffix never cleared.

I am probably just over looking something, but is there a template type customization available for the Role pages after signin? I know the signin pages are customizable via templates and I want to make some similar modifications to the pages displayed after the role is assigned.

In a perfect world: The user would login and get access to a set of resources (a) and if they had reserved a session also get access to an additional resource set (b). If a&b are assigned only on login is not an issue. I'm more focused on the backed process. My original thought was to use an additional AD group to grant additional (b) resources, but was told by our programmer that this was not acceptable. Manipulation of AD group by access to a web resource would not be prudent. I'm looking for other methods to accomplish the task.

We have a SA4500 using AD as the authentication server. Any ideas on an easy way to implement a web form that would manage reservations, then during a reserved time grant access to additional resources?

Backwards compatiblity and forwards compatiblity are two different issues. Backwards should not be an issue for at least one or two versions. This also becomes a major issue when conencting to multiple networks, or using a test network for new firmware. Each connection requires the software to be re-installed over and over. It is quite a hassle.

I'm using the SA to access some internal sites. They don't rerite well and require WSAM or a full Network Conenct. Is there a way to redirect the link through WSAM with out having the intermediate page open? Clicking on the link twice is annoying. I seem to remember there used to be such a feature, but can't seem to find it. I did try JSAM and for some reason the pages do not work well through JSAM. Seems the AJAX calls in the back end fail shortly after launching.

I used TCPDump to see that there were several requests that were not valid, thus timing out. Evidently when the SA is doing it's search for the domain controllers it uses the domain suffix on the network configuration rather than the domain on the Auth Server configuraion. These just happened to be different for a few weeks. Once I corrected the domains the login is quick like it should be. As for LDAP vs AD, it's my understanding that LDAP has a lower functionality level in relation ship to groups and SSO. This is why we chose to use AD instead.

I have 2 separate configurations of SA4500 on 6.4R2 both using AD auth to a 2008 server. Both use group membership to assign the role, and stop checking once the role matches. Both instances are very slow to login. On the more complex install the sign in takes about 30 seconds. On the simple, single Role solution, the sign in takes about 45 seconds. I see Primary Authentication occur immediately in the logs, so it seems it should complete the authentication quickly. However the role assignment takes an additional 25-30 seconds. Policy tracing shows the action completes immediatly. Any Ideas?

I got the custom sign in pages. Just looking if any one has seen an SDK or downloadable zip of the existing help files so there is less copy&paste or retyping of the work already done when I redirect help to a custom help page.

It sounds like you would just create an auth-server using AD as normal. Then in the role mapping have the SA place users in the DIALIN USERS group into the desired role.

Any kind of organizational structure would be helpful. A list of 20 bookmarks gets confusing. Then try steering a new user through the list to select the correct bookmark can get ugly. Being able to create a heirachy or some sort of label or grouping would be a plus.

right above the check box for Disable Browsing Toolbar reads a message: "Determine the tools that are available to users when browsing pages not located on the IVE , such as external web sites. " I have not seen a way to remove the bar. This box covers the toolbar shown when viewing another page through the IVE interface.

The message displayed to the right of the sign in area can be edited and taked most HTML and CSS commands. It's not a redirect, but can serve to display quite a bit of information. To edit this go to Authentication -> Signing In -> Sign-in Pages and select your sign-in page. Then place the desired HTML in the "Instructions" field.

I would check with the switch vendor. I know Avaya has some documentation on this with thier softphone applications. VoIP will work in my experience. There is not QoS queing on the SA, all QoS needs to be handled on the network outside of the SA.

Is it possible to use the SA to connect to a few Hardware VPNs as well as teh software? Senario: several hundred software clients (easy part). 4 to 5 Avaya VPN Remote phones. Each phone can create an IPSec VPN tunnel to many gateways brands including Juniper. Is there a way to configure several hardware VPNs to work with the SA?

The network connect 'allow access to the local subnet' is client side. It's local network would change for each location where Network Connect was launched. The routing should only add routes off the Internal Interface and it's subnets. The only routes I've ever needed to add are ones for the subnet local to the Internal INterface on the SA. I'm using 6.1R2 currently.

All of our AD credentials come AD, and are not stored elsewhere. SBR has a feature to backed with other sources. We simply make the AD server one of the methods it checkes when looking for an Auth. We also return credentials, like Group memebership in our case, back to the SBR to help derive roles. We use SSO for file share auth and RDP, and it works.

The only difference I can find in the two Access-Accept responses is the Attribute Value Pairs returned. The SBR only returns session-timeout(27) the Cisco ACS always returns a long Class(25) value along with any other values we set. Is it possible the IVE has a problem with certain vlaues for a class, maybe too large of a value or a format?

Does any one have experience with Cisco ACS handeling RADIUS auth? We are seeing the Cisco ACS reuturn an Auth-OK, but the SA still marks it as failed Auth. It works fine with the SBR or other Auth methods.

We have it set up here to use both AD and an SBR Radius backened with AD and SQL. We assign roles and allow realm access based on ADS groups, and set the SSO creds with the same. Haven't tried connecting to OWA with it, only file shares and RDP connections.

In the IVE is there a way to remove or disable the Save As: box? We use the SSL-VPN as a web based FTP, which works great, with one exception. Users are compelled to fill out every line including Save As. This renames the file and unknowingly strips the extension from the file name. You can imagine the confusion that ensues. Currently there is a big bold red warning to ensure users include a file name, but some people don't read. Any ideas how to disable the Save As or force an extnsion to be maintained?

I currently have several sign in pages that direct the user to several different realms based on what URL (domain.com/realmA, domain.com/realmB, etc.). Once the URL is accepted the SSL-VPN redirects to another scheme (url_default, url_1, url_2) for the actual signin. Is there anyway to change the url_X portion to better match the realmA, realmB naming? It doesn't cause any actual problems just diminishes the user experience in respect to bookmarks, etc.
