Hi, I would like to find out whether it is possible to install additional drivers on Juniper Network Connect Virtual Adaptor. I have been attempting to install to no avail. There are no explicit warning/ error messages, the drivers are simply not reflected in under the adapter's connection settings. Regards, yiming

Hi Skywalker, Thanks for your link. I think the closest I can get is "Remote SSO" which passes the system credentials (windows login username and password) to the IVE found in http://kb.pulsesecure.net/kb/documents/public/IVE/SA-SM-Admin-Help/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=SA_Admin_Help&file=chapSSO-03.html. I checked the help file in the SA700. Remote SSO is not supported in SA700. It can only at best do what you have described. I will try this feature when I have a better machine. Thanks. Hi, I am trying to setup the IVE such that the user only need to double click on the Network Connect icon to access the intranet. The user's username and password which were used to login to the client machine will be used for authentication with the AD in the back-end. There is no need to login to the IVE. I am now trying to use the Cert Server as the mode of authentication, so that the user is able to login to SSL VPN just by double-click the network connect icon. Encountered the following messages in the user logs: 1) Login failed using auth server Cert server (Certificate Server). Reason: Failed 2) Primary authentication failed for <user>/Cert server from <external IP address> Some questions: 1) How can I know what is the "User Name Template" when configuring the cert Server? 2) My LDAP authentication is not set up. Can it cause the Cert server to have problems? 3) My Active Directory computer only has domain\administrator account (set up by others). How can I add the SA700 to join the domain? Many thanks. hi Frac, When I am at Authentication > Signing In > Sign-in Policies > User URLs, there is only 1 entry. How can I add more entries to try your suggestion? There is only "Enable", "Disable","Save Changes". I am expecting a "Add URL" or something similar but there is none. The most I can do is change the sign-in URL, which is different from adding another sign-in URL. Do provide instructions to add sign-in URL if possible. Thanks.

Hi, Actually the user will login into the PC/Laptop using a smartcard and password. I am trying to configure the SA700 such that the user is able to SSO by clicking on the Network Connect and enter into the VPN without needing to enter password and username anymore. Thanks.

Hi Frac, Thanks. Your reply helped solve my problem. The users can login now. Hi NDCool, I tried the LDAP auth before, but always hit the error of "LDAP server not reachable for server [ip address] at port 389" when I tried to "Save Changes". "Test Connection" is fine. I will try to figure out how the Softerra LDAP Browser can help. Another question: I have some users in the AD that do not need to authenticate using a smartcard. These users login ok when using "Active Directory / Windows NT" for authentication. I have some users in the users that require a smartcard for login. How should I set up the authentication policy for them then? Tried "Active Directory / Windows NT" but always login fails. Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to configure the SA700 to authenticate users by the AD in the domain. I tried to add an authentication server by Authentication > Auth. Servers > Active Directory / Windows NT > New Server. I entered the details in the "New Active Directory/ Windows NT" page that follows, leaving the "Backup domain controller " field blank and "Allow trusted domains" unchecked. I selected "Use LDAP to get Kerboros realm name". When I hit the "Test configuration" button, there is a warning message "Either the server is not a domain controller of the domain or the Netbios name of the domain is different from the active directory (LDAP) name." I am sure the server IP address I entered is the domain controller. Not very sure what the second part of the error message means. There is also an error message: Error while joining domain [domain name]. Possible causes: - The specified administrator credentials do not properly authenticate (I am sure this is not the case) - The specified domain or domain controller may not be valid (I am sure this is not the case, AD machine can ping SA700) So what else needs to be configured?? or did I not configured correctly?? i am trying to use PDAs with WM5 and WM6 to access the SSL VPN (SA700) and access emails. I do not see the "Start" for Network Connect in the default start up page when using the PDA to log in. I usually see this when logged in using desktop/ laptop. Do I need to install the Network connect component/ software on my own onto the PDA?? where can I download the network connect installer for WM5/WM6 ? thanks.

it seems that a) Users > Resource Policies > [Profiles] > DHCP server b) System > Network > Network Connect > Network Connect Server IP address cannot be same value. I assigned another value for (b) and now the problem is solved.

Once I try to start to Network Connect. I get the following error messages. The Network Connect session terminated. Do you want to connect? (nc.window.app.23712) (I clicked on yes and get the following error message ) Reconnect attempt to the secure gateway failed. (nc.windows.app.24061) I checked the user access logs in admin console and saw that an IP address had been assigned by the DHCP to the network connect, but it was terminated again the next instant. This happens also when I used the IVE to assign the IP address instead of the DHCP. I have uninstalled the client's network connect and reboot the client machine. The network connect application then gets installed when I tried to initialise the Network Connect. I done a policy tracing and abstract of the results as below: 2008/04/08 10:05:25 - [172.1.1.25] - testuser1(Users)[Users] - Session created, redirecting user to start page. Sign-in done. Info PTR23471 2008/04/08 10:05:43 - [172.1.1.25] - testuser1(Users)[Users] - Network Connect: IP Address Pools obtained for the current session are Info PTR23468 2008/04/08 10:05:43 - [172.1.1.25] - testuser1(Users)[Users] - Network Connect: Session started with IP 192.168.100.45 Info PTR23469 2008/04/08 10:05:43 - [172.1.1.25] - testuser1(Users)[Users] - Network Connect: Session ended with IP 192.168.100.45 1) Im not sure whether the empty IP adress Pools is causing the network disconnect problem. 192.168.100.45 is assigned by the DHCP server. 2) Is there a problem for a) Users > Resource Policies > [Profiles] > DHCP server b) System > Network > Network Connect > Network Connect Server IP address to be the same IP address ?? It is different from the IVE IP address. I have a NC connection profile created for my testuser1's role. Any help is greatly appreciated.

hi joepope, i do not understand why i am unable to connect to Network Connect now after making some changes to the environment. In the lab environment, i changed the ip address of the DHCP server and IVE internal port from 10.0.0.xx to 192.168.100.xx so that they can be connected to some other machines in the network. I made the changes accordingly in the IVE admin page for the DHCP server's IP address at the following locations 1) Users > Resource Policies > [Profiles] > DHCP server 2) System > Network > Network Connect > Network Connect Server IP address Once I try to start to Network Connect. Hi, I realised when I unchecked "Auto-launch Network Connect", I can get to the webpage and do not get the repeatedly being directed to default login page problem. Can anyone explain why this is happening so that I can do a workaround and enable the auto-launch ? Thanks. Regards, ym

Hi sylvain, Thanks for replying. My problem is whenever I try to get to http://10.0.0.xx which is a test webpage that I set up on a host within the internal network, instead of getting to the webpage, I get directed to the default login page. I try to enter the webpage by typing the URL in the address bar of default start page and click "Browse" and the same thing happens, I get directed to the login page. Your reply is to replace the default start page with the URL of the webpage. I tried that also. Its still the default login page. Any suggestion is welcomed. Thanks. Regards, ym

Hi, I set up a test homepage with the Base URL entered into the IVE. The homepage is hosted by a machine in the LAN (internal port). I used a normal user acct to login using the default login page from the external port into the default webpage of the IVE. When i clicked on the default homepage link under "Web bookmarks", instead of getting to the URL as i stated, I always get directed to the IVE login page.
