For that use-case it sounds like that would work just fine The only thing to be careful of in a switch like that is making sure there is nothing that is doing server-initiated connections (e.g. VoIP or possibly IM).

I will take your kudo with pleaure :) I understand your concern but I think that you would be very safe in implementing the kiosk pages. Even if Juniper was to decide to no longer offer the sample templates the functionality offered by the kiosk page is really just HTML for soft password entry. Just my two cents worth!

In the user roles you can select windows session start scripts However you'll find that it wants to use a temp directory for running the script so you'll get an error kix32.exe is not recognized. To get around this do not call the kix script from here, use it run a regular login batch file. In that batch file map a drive to the netlogon share on the domain controller and have it call another batch file where you will call the kix script. so the first batch file that you put in the sa device will be something like this net use z: \\%Ip_of_server%\netlogon z: vpnlogin.bat Then the vpnlogin.bat can call the kixtart and would look like this %0\..\KIX32.EXE %0\..\vpn.kix You can then have your kix script run just as if you were local on the network.

Javi, Thanks for coming back to me. In the end I ended up using the Citrix Listed Applications feature which supports SSO and ICA client download, direct from the IVE. It's also meant that I could do away with the WI server completely as the Citrix apps appear on the Home Page. Thanks again for your help.

Tried turning this off, and although the speed was increased when connecting to the farm, the same error message appears. I have done some logging on this and the connection from the citrix listed applications when you fire up an icon for the user which does not work does this: Connecting using ICA File (Server: ICOServer) [ApplicationServers] ICOServer= [Encoding] InputEncoding=ASCII [ICOServer] Client-Type=Internet IconPath=C:\Program Files\Citrix\ICA Client\wfica32.exe IconIndex=0 Connecting using ICA File (Server: ICOServer) [ApplicationServers] ICOServer= [Encoding] InputEncoding=ASCII [ICOServer] Client-Type=Internet IconPath=C:\Program Files\Citrix\ICA Client\wfica32.exe IconIndex=0 Connecting using ICA File (Server: ICOServer) [ApplicationServers] ICOServer= [Encoding] InputEncoding=ASCII [ICOServer] Client-Type=Internet IconPath=C:\Program Files\Citrix\ICA Client\wfica32.exe IconIndex=0 Now, on my machine as myself the ICOServer parts are replaced by the actual application name, and this connects ok. Tried this on my machine as the user which does not work and the same logs above come up and permission denied on the 1494 connection. But if I create a custom ICA file, and get the user to use this going to the same application logged in as him then it works ok. Really lost on this now.

RHIPS, thanks for the tip off. It's quite amazing how careful you need to be when using firmware revisions. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of a test appliance so pretty much everything is tested by our end users. At least the rollback feature works!

The actual behavior is quite interesting. If you setup NC and SAM (either JSAM or WSAM) to auto launch then the browser session simply ignores the NC and launches the appropriate SAM session. If you then attempt to manually launch NC you see two different actions. With WSAM running the NC launch will prompt you to allow it to stop the WSAM session prior to NC launching. You can't start NC w/WSAM running. However, ff you choose to you can then restart WSAM and the two will coexist on the desktop. Under JSAM the NC launch simply occurs and the JSAM session is left alone and JSAM and NC coexist. Interestingly enough the JSAM rules seem to take precedence over the NC rules. I have a JSAM rule that is setup for MS Outlook and it does not work (due to port issues) with Outlook 2003. When I enable NC while JSAM is still running the Outlook connection still fails so based on that I would say JSAM is "on top."

Hi Guys, I am using Suse Linux 11.1 and am having trouble using the Citrix Java ICA client. I have setup Java Hosted Apps with the Citrix client and whilst it runs fine on PCs running Windows I cannot seem to get the Java applet to load properly. If anyone is using this method for Linux I would appriciate some advice. Thanks.

Hi, I have a Citrix 4.6 WI server connecting to CPS 4.5 Ent servers. When using the IVE, I have setup a web resource accordingly. I have noticed some poor performance, such that when a user types in say MS Word, you can see the latency. When using Network Connect, the latency disappears. Has anyone come across this? Thanks.
