Do you have low enough useage at night to start a trace dump with a filter for the AD or LDAP host? Troubleshooting / Tools / TCP dump : host 10.1.2.1 (whatever your role mapping refers to in lookups) You could start it at shift end and stop and get it at shift start, unless you have high use at night. Another thought is to set-up a syslog aggregator, like Splunk, and set your event logs to capture everything and send them to it. Also, if possible, have your AD logs sent there.

We have seen rare cases of the proxy.pac file setting "sticking" in the clients IE 10 browser. What I mean by sticking is that the IVE proxy setting that is installed upon VPN start is not removed after session close. Rare is 2-4 cases among a thousand users. There is no fix so far. I have seen IE 11 problems with IVE 7.4R11.1 which is a known issue, and different problems with IE 11 and IVE OS 8.0R7.1. I have an open tech case for the "sticking" and may create a second case for the proxy.pac not working in 8.0.

Todd, about a month ago I dusted off a 2500 and upgraded it from 6.-something to 7.2. I did not try doing it in one jump, as we have had our SA units hang before, when going to far at once. I grabbed a few builds, and upgraded in steps, where I went to the highest R# of a major number that I started in, then went to the next major number, say 6.3R7 to 6.4R5. Or something along those lines. It took a little time, but I had cleared all of the logs first, and this SA had no user settings to save. Good luck! Michele

The Admin guide for 6.5R1 states this on page 150: NOTE: The admin console provides last access statistics for each user account on various Users tabs throughout the console, under a set of columns titled Last Signin Statistic. The statistics reported include the last successful sign-in date and time for each user, the userÕs IP address, and the agent or browser type and version. Can somebody tell me where I could find the last access statistic for each user? I do not see "varoius user tabs throughout the console". I think that I am fairly familar with the console, but I have never seen this statisitic on my SA-4500. System / Log/Monitoriing > Events, or > User Access, does not have a nice neat statistic like the one described above. I have played with filters, but don't have anything so neat.

One of our users here just tried IE Tab for Firefox3.0.8, available as an add-on by Firefox. It seems to allow Host Checker to do its thing, and he can use Firefox on his Vista Enterprise. Our IVE is running 6.3R1-2. One caveat is that the first time, he had to do a double-login. Another is that WSAM seemd to crash his browser, and reboot his machine, but that could be unrelated. The second login worked fine. I have seen that Host Checker seems to have random issues with Vista.

Create a Host Checker policy based on OS. Put values in it for Windows, such as choosing to look for WindowsXP SP2. Do not put any values in the Mac or LInux tabs. Require and enforce the policy at the User Realm / (realm) / Role Mapping rules

Hello, I find I have the same issue, where I do not know what to put in the jar, that will customize it(?) for our enterprise, and the Juniper SSL doesn't accept it without those values. Where did you find the completed script?

I am just starting to configure our new SSL 4500. I have some minor host checker policies, and just one file check for Macs. With my Macattempting to log in, I get a message in the SSL's log that browser Mozilla 5.0 is not supported for host checker. Our corp. would like to do more than just check for the existence of a file, port or process on non-windows clients. Before we allow them access, I want to run a script that will check for something deeper, say a grep for a certain phrase in Linux iptables, or query what mac-address is used on the client. I do not see where, in HC, I could launch a script and check for results.
