Hi im using a L2 authentiication with IC4500. Also i donÇt know what might be causing the logout I wouldn't have any problem with this logs if users didn't disconnect unexpectedly. Any suggestions?? This are the session options for this role:

Hi, I'm using Junos Pulse in a L2 connection and when i go to the Active users table in the UAC i can see some information that comes from the Pulse. I want to know what kind of information Junos Pulse collects from the user machine. If it's more than username and MAC how do i see that information? Regards Giulianna

Hi, I've an IC4500 and my users are authenticate via Junos Pulse for a L2 connection, I've seen this log: AUT209152014-06-02 15:55:00 - ic - [127.0.0.1] DOMAIN.COM\user(Realm)[Role] - Session timed out for DOMAIN.COM\user/Realm (session:2574ffff) due to inactivity (last access at 15:23:10 2014/06/02). Idle session identified after user request. The connection was terminated due to inactivity, where can I configure this parameter? what does Junos Pulse defines as inactivity? Also in the active users table i have one particular user that authenticates successfully but I can't see the time when it was authenticated and what IP it has, i don't know why but the logs for this user is full of successfull authentications every minute, I don't know how to stop it. Anny suggestions on how to solve it? Regards Giulianna

Hi Kannan, Actually I found the problem, the issue was caused by a GPO to deploy Junos Pulse software. After I deleted it everything was fine and now all my users can log off and shutdown their computers without a problem. Thanks, Giulianna

Hi everyone, Whenever i logoff or shutdown the computer reboots. The only specific event that changed before this problem was the installation of Junos Pulse so i tried uninstalling it and removing all possible directory files and registry keys that i could find. Since i have this problem in many computers, after the uninstall process some of them didn't have the problem anymore but not all of them got rid of it. Any ideas on how to solve this? PS. I still have the problem in about 100 computers.

Hi. It also had the same problem with my users. They think any problem on their computers is caused by Junos Pulse. But even though you can try to 'hyde' Junos Pulse users will see a change on their logon screens. I have an IC4500 and performing layer 2 authentication i've installed the junos pulse and the certificates through GPO for all my users. Is very important to have a certificate installed because if you don't have one then a message will prompt as an alert and it will ruin all the 'hiding' process. To configure the Junos Pulse. Go to Users>Junos Pulse and edit the connection that you are currently using. Only leave checked the following options: -Allow saving logon information -Dynamic connections Save the changes Then edit the connection that you created for 802.1x Edit the trusted server list to trust ANY certificate and in Server CA select the CA that signed your certificate. After that go to the section Connection is stablished: an select the option 'automatically at user login' Finally configure the prefered realm that you created for active directory. Save all the changes If you only have 1 connection it will update automatically in client machines. If not you will need to update it by downloading the pulse from the UAC page again. You may now have the following sequence: It's in spanish but this is exactly how it will look like for the users. in this way Junos Pulse will never prompt again for the users and will authenticate them to the network. I have successfully completed the implementation of a UAC cluster with 802.1x authentication, now i want to configure the guest vlan for the clients to download the pulse client. i used this configuration: aaa new-model aaa authentication dot1x default group radius aaa authorization network default group radius radius-server host 172.19.4.40 auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813 key juniper radius-server deadtime 1 interface FastEthernet0/9 switchport access vlan 5 switchport mode access dot1x pae authenticator dot1x port-control auto dot1x reauthentication dot1x guest-vlan 53 spanning-tree portfast I already have a MAG on the vlan 53, how can I do to put the UAC on that vlan?. I have found an option under System>Network>VLANs do I have to configure that on the UAC or it is another way to redirect from the switch? Regards Giulianna

Ok, IÇve attached the detailed logs, also i checked the configuratioin of the UAC by authenticating the users with my juniper switch, and everything seems to be ok. But still ave the same problem with the Dlink switch. I hope you can help me.

IÇve attached the Junos Pulse logs. Note: The only conguration I did in the switch was to enable dot1x and configure a trunk port so the switch can see all the Vlans in my network. Thanks Giulianna

I've tried with both, Open Port and VLAN. But none of them lets me log in the user. I've attached the logs. Note: Even though I can't log in the user the Junos Pulse keeps on connecting state, and doesn't show any error. Also I've sniffed the internal port on the UAC using TCPdump and I can see radius packages between the UAC (10.10.1.150) and the Dlink switch (10.10.1.156) which means they are comunicating.

IÇm authenticating clients using 802.1x and depending their roles assign them the correct vlan. I have made the configuration with the UAC and a Juniper switch, and everything worked fine. But now the my customer wants to implement the same configuration on a Dlink switch, I tried to replicate everything I did on the EX 2200 switch but when clients try to authenticate (using Junos Pulse). It remains in a connecting state. When I see the logs and check the TCP dump, everything seems fine and when I check the active users in the UAC, the user appears to be logged in, but with no IP address. Any idea or suggestion?
