Is it possible to have an 802.1x setup with a UAC VM that allows people onto the network even if they fail. For example: if USER = valid then allow if USER = invalid then allow if USER = not exists then allow All we want is for the UAC box to capture who fails and who succeeds at the logins. Is that possible. I already tried server-fail permit but that only works for RADIUS timeouts. Thank you in advance, Garett

Just for the sake of being complete. Can you post your EX config? Just want to verify that you have 802.1x enabled on the ports. Also, you can start with at least getting local authentication working before adding certificates. They are a different beast. Garett

And to be sure, based on what I read fro your original posting-- you are attempting to authenticate before the user logs in? Is this correct? As was stated previous the logs will help. I just did this recently so I'll keep an eye on the thread. GL

Thanks for the reply Kannan. Ultimately, a ticket with JTAC gave me my answer. Unfortunately, it looks like you can only do certificate based authentication with the Pulse Client at L2 which doesn't work for my purposes. Not a big deal and a lesson learned. Kudos to you! GL

Hello, I am trying to use the Pulse Client as a windows 802.1x supplicant. Can it be a standalone supplicant or does it need to use the Windows Native Supplicant in order to work? The reason behind this is that I want to use a single license instead of multiple licenses as I am now. Currently, my users authenticate to the network via 802.1x at L2 and we want to do resource policies using our SRX as an enforcer at L3. The issue is that this takes up two licenses. Is it possible to bundle the entirety of this up using the Pulse Client for Windows? GL

Hello All, I am using some troubles getting the JUNOS Pulse client to play nicely with my Defender Tokens. Now with my landing portal, there is no issue. You go to the landing page, type in LDAP credentials and get password on to the next page which asks for your token. You give it that and you are through and can access whatever you need. However, the Pulse Client asks for a login and password-- then when it gets to the next token page, it always fails with the following log message: Failed login for 'glaberge' from IP x.x.x.x because Next Token code is invalid. But, again, we know it is not invalid because it works for the web portal. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks, Garett LaBerge

Hello All, I am looking to set all RDP sessions to 32-bit True Color even if my users are using the 'type in your IP' method of creating terminal sessions. I am not using bookmarks or resource policies so those options are right out. Any thoughts on how to do this? I figured it out for the Java Client but the Windows RDP will always default to 8-bit until I go into each user and set it to 32-bit. Thanks in advance, Garett LaBerge
