On the update page for the MAG4610, 8.0X is still the JTAC reccomended release. However it looks like 8.1X has received two updates in the last month and the 8.0X series has received nothing. Is 8.0X still the reccomended release, or has that now been deprecated by 8.1X?

As of this morning when users attempt to login to our SSLVPN we are receiving notice on our firewall of a suspicious IPS hit around RPC calls. Nothing changed on our firewall or our SSLVPN. Now all LDAP login requests return as failures, as it appears this RPC call is being used for authentication. We were running 8.0R9, but we upgraded to 8.0R10 and are having the same issue. Anyone else seen this issue? Any solutions other than whitelisting?

With everything up in the air with the merger to pulse secure this may take longer than usual.

The only way you can do this is by changing the cipher orders to put PFS ciphers at the top, a feature that is not currently available. You can see my thread on this here: https://forums.pulsesecure.net/topic/pulse-connect-secure/265658-allow-changing-cipher-order Juniper indicated it was likely to be included in the next major release, but with everything up in the air with Juniper transitioning to pulse secure, who knows when thats going to happen.

I noticed a Juniper blog here and in the comments there was a discussion on changing cipher suite order to perfer perfect forward secrecy cipher suites, which a juniper rep indicated was an upcoming feature. Is there an ETA on when this feature will be available?

I have been running this way for at least 3 months with no issue. We have folks accessing our portal with everything from IE9-IE11 as well as Google chrome for windows and mac, Firefox for windows and mac, and Safari on mac and no one has encountered any issues.

Whats the time frame for patching this? I know with the transition to the new company there are going to be some shakeups, but regardless of how serious Juniper (or pulse secure) considers this; patching this vulnerability should happen immediately.

I never opened a case on it becasue I thought I was just setting things up wrong, I only ended up needing to map the drive for 1 user and put .bat file locally to do it, but i was hoping for a way to do this via unc path.

I am running a mag 4610 with 8.0R5. When I look at the log within the client, it doesnt throw an error. It indicates that it attempts to run the .bat file and nothing happens, I havent tried again since I opened the topic.

Im using WSAM through the web portal, We do not use the pulse client at all, ever. I'm not sure if this is considered legacy or not, but my guess is that it is.So there is no way to launch a .bat file from a unc path? That is very poor design.

How can a startup script be delayed? There is no option to do it from the admin console, and I can't put a delay into the .bat file becasue it never opens it. I should have specified that I am doing this via the web portal and WSAM, we dont use the pulse client. So if its possible to put a delay within the pulse client this is not available in the web portal.

You keep saying "We have been experiencing some problems with later versions of Java" wihout actually stating what these problems are. In order for support or anyone else to help you they have to actually know what these issues are. Can you not connect? Do you receive an error message? Do some resources not work? Did you have to build a workaround? Tell us what the problem is and what steps you have taken to fix it and we can proceed from there.

I found those KB articles when I was initially researching the issue, but the solution in them is to place the script locally to then call the remote script at the UNC path. It sort of defeats the purpose of having the UNC script at all. I want to invoke the UNC script directly, not launch a local script that calls a unc script.

Got another update from support today on this. Apparently this is "working as intended" as session extension is only applicable to the pulse client. What doesnt make sense to me is that the web session offers an extension at all if it isnt supported. If it isnt supported then there should be no option whatsoever for web session extensions, but there is. It should be trivial to change how long it is since the feature is already implemented. I pointed this out to support and I am hoping they treat this as a bug rather than an enhancement request.

When you throw out something like "it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt" your not really helping anyone solve your issue. I can verify that it continues to work in windows with java 7 u65 and java 8 u5, i havent tested yet with 7 u67 or 8 u11.What doesnt work with 7u67?

For us this is most certainly troubling news, we intend to sit out the maintenance contract and, depending on how the direction support takes, decide what to do then. If the pace of updates continues unabated, and support continues to do a good job, chances are we will stick with the product.

When a session is close to timing out I have the option to extend the session, but its only a popup box with an ok or cancel button, I dont have any options to enter credentials again, even if I did this is undesirable. The pulse client software allows a session extension without needing to enter credentials, so the web portal should function the same.

No it was not. Behaviour has been consistant since we purchased the dev ice. Extensions are only an additional 5 minutes instead of being the max session length. You were able to replicate only a 5 minute extension in the web portal? good to hear. Is this a bug or intended behaviour?

I have opened ticket # 2014-0801-0504 on this. We are still testing, but I wanted to reach back out on these forums. I should specify the extension im looking for IS NOT on the Juniper Pulse application, it is for the web portal only. We do not use Pulse and we have no intention of using pulse. Currently when a user tries to extend there session they are only given an additional 5 minutes instead of extending it by the max session length. How can we fix this?

Thats strange, i have my setup almost identical to the example in that article, but when my users extend there session they only get an additional 5 minutes. Why is this not working as intended? The only difference between mine and the example is my idle timer is 20 minutes instead of 10, otherwise its identical.

I see the checkbox under user roles->session options to allow users to extend sessions, but I dont see any way to configure the length of the extension. Is there some way to define how long users may extend a session for?
